Hello and welcome to The Box Place.
My name is Theo Gibb and I run a repair service for melodeons, concertinas and accordions. I offer a complete service to squeezebox owners and do restoration work on older instruments. I can also be found playing with Sunniside Up! Ceilidh Band and chatting about all things squeezebox on melodeon.net and concertina.net.
My aim is to do work only of the highest quality. As a customer, you can expect me to take time to listen to you and to discover precisely how you want your instrument set up. I will work closely with you to understand the sound you want, and how you want your instrument to respond as you play.
My quality control is based on the width of your smile when I put your instrument back in your hands. If you are not delighted with the work I've done for you, then please tell me. I want to know so I can do whatever is necessary to put things right. If you are delighted with my work then please tell anyone you think might be interested!
I'll be at the trade fair at Whitby Folk Week from August 22nd to 28th, running a repair service, and with instruments and accessories for sale. I'll be selling instruments on commission at my usual rate of 15%. If there is something you would like me to sell for you please bring it along, or get it to me beforehand. Please call in if you would like to have a chat, get a box fixed or just to say hello. Once again the trade fair will be in the Leisure Centre adjacent to the West Cliff car park and is open to the public.
